What is New Age Kurling?
New Age Kurling is a take on curling, a game where players slide large round stones towards a mark on ice, while using brooms to sweep the surface in order to control speed and direction. New Age Kurling removes the need for ice and brooms, and can be played in a sports hall with the winner being the player who can get their stone to the closest to the centre of the target after a series of rounds.

All you need to play the game is the following:
- New Age Kurling Stones (4 red, 4 blue)
- New Age Kurling and Bowls Target (for smaller indoor spaces only) or New Age Kurling Vinyl Target (for larger spaces indoors or outdoors)

How Do You Play New Age Kurling?
How to play the game is fairly simple. Participants are tasked with delivering 'stones' from end of the court to a target at the other end. The game is played in a hall roughly half the width of a badminton court, with each end being played in the opposite direction to the previous end.
Like curling, the aim is to get as close to the centre of the target as you can
Each game will consist of 6 to 8 rounds and the winner is the player with the highest number of scoring 'stones' at the end of the game. If you're a little confused right now don't worry, we will explain further in the next section.
What Are the Rules When Playing New Age Kurling?
To make it simple to understand, we've decided to separate the game out into different stages. The first stage is how to start.
Starting Your Game
- Before the game, players will toss a coin.
- Whoever wins the coin toss gets a choice. They can either choose which player goes first, or choose the colour of their stone.
- The losing player then gets to choose the remaining option. This will either be which player goes first, or the colour of their stone.
Playing the Game
- Whoever ended up been chosen to go first (see numbers 2 and 3 above) will start.
- Each team has four stones, and teams will take it in turns to throw (Team A - Team B - Team A - Team B). This will continue until all four stones from both teams have been thrown. Once that is complete, the round is over and you will swap sides.
- Stones may be delivered using a pusher or ramp. Ramps can be used by disabled players and must not exceed 125cm long.
Target
- The target is the red, white and blue. If your stone hits the outer white ring, then this is not a valid point.
Scoring
- Only stones that reach the red, white or blue will count.
- The stone that is closest to the centre at the end of a round will score a point.
- Other stones that are closer to the centre of the same colour will also score.
- The only possible scores a round are 0-0, 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 and 4-0.
- Each game consists of either 6 or 8 rounds (your choice)
