Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, there must be an evacuation plan in place in every building, including hospitals where many of the patients are not able to walk. Evacuation chairs are an ideal solution, but in the congestion of a busy ward or where staircases and corridors are narrow, they are not always the most practical answer.

The Ski Sled Evacuation Stretcher solves this problem. Designed specifically for evacuating those who are unable to walk, the stretcher holds the user in a safe and secure manner via three seatbelt-style straps. The slippery base means the stretcher can slide easily over most interior surfaces for a swift and easy evacuation from a building in the event of an emergency.

Using the Ski Sled Evacuation Stretcher

• Remove from wall mounted storage bag and moved to individual
• User transferred to the stretcher. This can be done from the floor, bed or a chair
• Position feet within the foot pocket
• If pillows are available, position on the leg and chest area for additional comfort
• Secure the patient using the straps
• Use the pulling handles to move to a safe area. Please note: when transporting the patient down the stairs, they must be moved feet first.
