Precision Vision 3-Metre ETDRS LogMAR Eye-Test (Chart 1 Revised)

Conduct visual acuity tests at half the standard distance with the Precision Vision 3-Metre ETDRS LogMAR Eye-Test (Chart 1 Revised), a test chart consisting of fourteen lines of five Sloan optotype letters each. This revised design is suitable for use by optometrists and similar eyecare specialists, doctors, and vehicle licensing agencies. Each of the ten Sloan optotype letters used for this chart are presented at least once in each position.

What Is the Function of The Eye-Test Chart?

The ETDRS logMAR eye-test is designed for conducting visual acuity assessments. The chart consists of fourteen lines of five Sloan optotype letters each, with each row being smaller than the previous one. Patients are asked to identify and read aloud each row of optotype while standing at a 3 metre distance from the chart.

What Does the Chart Being Revised Mean?

This revised chart design has been adapted from the original ETDRS logMAR test chart, and the two chart types have some key differences. This includes:

• The original and revised chart use the same optotype letters, but arrange them in different orders
• Each chart uses a different letter-difficulty rating. The revised chart's scored are based on the visual acuity assessments of 7420 eyes during an ETDRS study
• The revised chart design is not suitable for use during studies sponsored by the American National Eye Institute
