MP5 Ultra Specialist Seizure Monitor
The MP5 Ultra Specialist Seizure Monitor is the most superior seizure monitor in its class. Featuring advanced specialist software programming that enables clear and accurate detection of a wide range of seizures and seizure-type movements, the MP5 Ultra Monitor can track nocturnal seizure movement and non-typical convulsive seizures.
What's Included?
- 1 x MP5 Ultra Monitor
- 1 x MP5 Bed Sensor
- 2 x MPPL Pager
How Does the MP5 Ultra Seizure Monitor Work?
The MP5 Ultra is a mat and alarm system which uses micro-monitoring techniques to determine whether the movements of a patient are indicative of a seizure or not. Simply place the mat underneath the mattress of the patient/user, making sure the mat is connected to the main unit. Once tailored and programmed to meet your unique needs, the two connected alert alarms will be contacted in the event of an abnormal pattern of movement or seizure.
Pre-programmed Detection Modes
The MP5 Ultra Specialist Seizure Monitor comes pre-programmed with selectable seizure detection modes. It can also be personalised to suit a specific persons seizure type and condition, like tracking the movement pattern of someone suffering tonic clonic seizures to a child showing mild rocking symptoms.
What Happens When an Abnormal Movement or Seizure Is Detected?
A verified seizure detected results in an alarm transmission to either of the two carer pagers that are supplied with this product package. Each pager has a working range of up to 100 metres, granting flexibility and leniency with regard to proximity to the patient.
The versatile and extremely sensitive nature of the MP5 Ultra Specialist Seizure Monitor makes it the ideal all in one solution for those in need of detecting specific movements that may not be detected using a standard seizure detection system.
How Does the Pager Get Alerted?
There are three different options available with each pager system. You can choose to be alerted via vibration only, vibration and low tone alert or using vibration and high tone alert in higher-risk situations.
Which Conditions and Symptoms Can Be Targeted?
- Cerebal Palsy (mode)
- Clonic Seizures
- Myoclonic Cluster Seizures
- Secondary Generalised Seizures
- Seizures with Twitching
- Tonic Seizures
What makes the MP5 Ultra Special?
The ability to program the device to specifically suit a particular type of seizure or condition (listed above) sets the MP5 Ultra aside from other seizure monitors as does the fact this model is fully certified and medically tested. The MP5 Ultra Specialist Seizure Monitor can also be used on airflow mattresses where most other types of seizure sensors cannot, since most alarms will false alarm due to the movement of the airflow. This is because it is extremely sensitive and has the ability to differentiate between movements caused by the airflow mattress and seizure movements.
