Who Can Benefit from the SIBA Sliding Aid System?

The SIBA Sliding Aid System is designed to aid patients who are unable to move or reposition in bed without the help of a carer. The base sheet offers a slippery surface for the top sheet to move over, so patients can be shifted up and down or side to side along the bed. If a replacement is required, the top draw sheet can also be purchased on its own.

Do These Sliding Aids Enable Movement In All Directions?

As denoted by the white checked markings on the top draw sheet, this system enables multi-directional movement, so patients can be moved side to side or up and down along the bed. However, as the top sheet only spans from shoulders to hips, it does not provide enough support for those who have very limited mobility in their lower bodies or necks.

How Does the Four-Way Bed Sheet Prevent Injury?

At the same time, polycotton edges and the polycotton topside of the draw sheet add friction to stop the patient from sliding out of bed and getting hurt.

Will the SIBA Base Sheet Fit My Patient's Bed?

This SIBA Base sheet may not fit standard single healthcare beds as it is specifically designed for divan style beds, or those without headboards and footboards. Additionally, for easy application and use, markers show which way up the sheet should be place on the bed and where its centre should sit.
