The Wellell Optima Turn Pressure Relief Lateral Turning Mattress could help improve the lives of both bed-ridden patients and their carers. From the easy-to-use interface panel, you can control pressure settings, rotating and turning angles, time therapy and more. Give patients comprehensive and highly customised pressure relief, with Optima.

What's Included?

  • 1 x Pressure Relief Mattress
  • 1 x Mattress Pump

Who Should Use the Wellell Optima Turn Mattress?

This mattress is designed for patients at a high to very risk of pressure sores that require frequent turning by nurses and carers. As manual turning of patients can be very intrusive, especially during the night, this system will allow patients to gain more independence and a better night's sleep, all while freeing up carer time for other important tasks.

Choice of Continuous or Alternating Surface Pressure Relief

The Wellell Mattress offers the choice of alternating pressure at customisable levels and intervals, or continuous low pressure. With these options, carers can find each patients most beneficial pressure care routine.

How Does the Mattress Turn the Patient?

This Optima Turn Mattress turns patients by up to 30° to either side. The system provides the option of full, right and left assisted turn, or can be set to provide automatic turning at variable times. This automatic turning can dramatically reduce the occurrence of pressure injuries.

Side Bolsters Boost Comfort and Safety

With a turning mattress, you may be worrying about patients falling out of bed. That's not an issue with the Wellell mattress because of the side bolters that act as a barrier for falls. They also boost comfort and give patients a sense of security.

Personalised Heel Relief Care

The heels are vulnerable to pressure injuries due withstanding large amounts of pressure over a small surface area. The Optima Turn offers customised deflation of air cells at the heels to elevate or suspend them and maintain zero-pressure heel relief and lower the chances of injury.

Easy Operation with Control Panel

The control panel of the Optima Turn offers comprehensive and highly customised options for pressure, turning, alarms and much more. Nevertheless, it has an extremely user-friendly interface, making it easy for carers to use. To make operation as intuitive as possible, a simple control panel enables you to quickly set up the system, ensuring patients can be fully supported.

What Cell Cycle Times Are Available?

This mattress allows you to choose alternating cycle times of 10, 15, 20, and 25 minutes. These times can be easily adjusted by pressing the "Cycle" button, allowing simple changes depending on patient needs.

Is This Mattress Supplied with a Cover?

Helping ensure that the mattress is protected from fluid ingress and damage, it is supplied with a 4-way stretch, PU, waterproof, vapour-permeable cover that protects the mattress from damage or contamination. Welded seams help to prevent fluid ingress and further reduce the risk of contamination – vital for compliance with infection control standards.

How Does the Cover Assist with Pressure Relief?

As well as helping to protect the mattress system, the cover also helps to improve comfort and further reduce the risk of pressure ulcers. Finally, a four-way stretch PU design makes the cover feel more comfortable while reducing shear and friction against the skin.
