JUUL Vapouriser Battery Life Review 2024

The NHS tells us that, based on all available evidence, vaping seems to be a far healthier alternative to smoking. For some of us, though, there are a few differences between the two that are hard to get our heads around. One of the biggest hurdles to clear is the fact that vapourisers can run out of battery – an obstacle that was never a problem in the world of cigarettes.

With this in mind, for a vape to really replace smoking in our daily lives, it needs to have a great battery life, and it needs to be easy to charge. To test this, we're looking at the new JUUL vapouriser that's been taking the world by storm. Is it really as good as everyone says, and is the battery good enough to be convenient for the average vaper?

What Kind of Battery Does the JUUL Use?

Given how small and compact the JUUL device is, it uses a surprisingly powerful lithium polymer battery with a 250mAH capacity. Handily, the battery features a 'smart charge' feature, meaning that, once it's fully charged, power supply is cut off to avoid damage to the battery as a result of charging. This battery is advertised as lasting all day – but we'll get back to that later.

Is the JUUL Easy to Charge?

To really compete with smoking, charging the JUUL needs to be quick and seamless, and we have to say it passes the test. The USB charger can plug right into any USB socket, and the device stands upright in the magnetic charger, making it ideal for charging in your laptop while getting work done. The JUUL charges fully in 1 hour, which beats out the vast majority of other vapes on the market.

How Long Will the JUUL Battery Last?

At 250mAH the JUUL battery isn't the largest on the market, but it will last for a full day for most vapers. For heavier users, it may require two charges per day, but given the ease of charging, that isn't much of a drawback.

How Can I Check the JUUL Battery?

In the centre of the JUUL is a small indicator light that glows while in use and when charging. When the device is on, simply tap it twice in any place to display the charge level. It will glow green, yellow or red depending on charge level, with each colour corresponding to:

  • Green Light: 100% to 60% remaining
  • Yellow Light: 60% to 30% remaining
  • Red Light: 30% to 0% remaining

When Will the JUUL Battery Need to Be Replaced?

The JUUL battery is expected to last 600 charge cycles, so roughly 1 - 2 years of average daily use. At this point, the battery will begin to deteriorate inevitably, and it's probably time to replace your device.

JUUL Battery Life - Our Verdict

In terms of battery life, the JUUL passes our convenience test. It'll give you a day's worth of battery life in a 60 minute charge, and plugs neatly into a laptop for those of us on the go. If you'd like to give the JUUL a try, the JUUL Starter Kit is currently available at a discounted price.
