Allard SOT Black Right-Hand Thumb Splint

Featuring an individual core that can be shaped easily to fit the wearer's hand anatomy, the Allard SOT Black Right-Hand Thumb Splint utilises a smooth design that makes it an excellent alternative to custom-fitted thumb orthosises. Designed to restrict movements in CMC (Carpometacarpal) and MCP (Metacarpophalangeal) joints, the splint supports the hand’s arch, whilst positioning the thumb’s joints and muscles in a comfortable and desirable resting position.

Which Size Do I Need?

The SOT Thumb Splint is available in three sizes. To find your size, you must make two measurements:

1. Measure your MCP width (directly across your four knuckles from one side to the other).
2. Measure the length from your wrist to the end of your finger.

Who Can Use the Allard SOT Black Thumb Splint?

The SOT Black Thumb Splint is designed to restrict injured and torn tendons and joints in order to maintain and improve full recovery. As such, the Allard SOT Black Right-Hand Thumb Splint is appropriate for the following conditions:

• Scaphoid injury
• Stable ligamentous injuries to the thumb
• Fractures of the base of the first metacarpal
• Joint arthritis
• General ligament instability

What Is an SOT Splint?

SOT stands for Smart Orthotic Treatment and this brace has been designed to provide a more intelligent solution to splinting. The splint is lightweight and utilises a number of ergonomic features for high levels of comfort, while also featuring an aluminium core that provides stability.

How Do You Fit the SOT Thumb Splint?

1. Check that the support is complete and without damage.
2. Open the wide straps 2 and 3 and leave strap 1 at it’s position.
3. Put the hand on the support.
4. Pull the strap over the hand and attach strap 3 and then strap 2 on the Velcro on the inside of the support.
5. Adjust strap 1 and 2 for comfort.

When Using

1. For donning and doffing after initial fitting, only open the strap on the little finger side (strap 3).

Washing Instructions

The SOT Thumb Splint can be machine washed at 40°C.
