How Do I Use the Shoe Correctly?
- Open the shoe and place your foot in the shoe
- Ensure the foot is securely positioned
- Place the heel of the foot as far back as possible
- Close the shoe with the hook and loop fasteners
- Ensure that the shoe isn't secured too loosely or tightly
- When being worn, ensure that you take greater care when walking
Please note that the outer edges of the shoe (by the heel of the foot) should not touch the ground when you are walking. This could negatively impact the outcome of the surgery.

To give bandaged or swollen feet the room needed, the HeelWedge Shoe is adjustable for customisable use based on personal preference. The fasteners allow the wearer to secure the shoe as loosely or firmly as they find comfortable.

Will This Post-Operative Shoe Fit My Dressing?
Yes, thanks to the adjustable hook and loop closures, the Post-Operative Shoe is highly adjustable. This means it can easily accommodate all types of dressings.
Can the Darco Shoe Be Worn While Driving?
No, the Post-Surgical Shoe is not recommended to be worn while driving. The rigid bottom of the shoe may negatively affect your ability to control your vehicle's pedals.
How Do I Clean the Darco Shoe?
To ensure good hygiene, particularly with extended use, the Post-Surgical Shoe should be regularly cleaned when soiled. To do so, follow these simple instructions:
- Clean with a damp cloth or brush and warm, soapy water
- Allow to dry
- Repeat for the enclosed insoles
Please note that no strong solvents should be used on the shoe, nor should it be tumble dried.
