Thuasne Ligaflex Rhizo Thumb Support

Suffering from thumb pain can be difficult to deal with, particularly because you use your thumb so frequently during day-to-day activities. The Thuasne Ligaflex Rhizo Thumb Support uses a patented wire thumb frame to immobilise your wrist joint. The support maintains your wrist range of motion and allows grip movement to ensure your movement isn't inhibited.

Indications for the Rhizo Thumb Support

The Ligaflex Rhizo can be used for a number of conditions, including:

  • CMC instability
  • Flexor tendon injury
  • Sprained wrist
  • Thumb arthritis
  • Weakened or torn TFCC ligaments
  • Weakness of the thumb joint

Sizing of the Thuasne Ligaflex Support

The Thuasne Thumb Support is available in two sizes so you can get the correct stabilisation for you. Simply measure the circumference of your wrist and consult the table below to find the correct size, then select your preferred option from the drop down menu at the top of the page.

Thumb Column Opening

The Rhizo Thumb Support has been designed with an opening at the thumb column. This prevents pressure in the area, which is integral in such a sensitive part of your hand. The opening also allows you to move the column relatively well, which is important for completing daily activities and tasks.

Comfortable Material

Using lightweight and comfortable material, the Thuasne Rhizo Thumb Brace ensures you remain as supported as possible. The brace uses a treated, antibacterial 3D knit to wick away moisture in the area. This helps your hand and the support remain dry and secure.

Delivery is free of charge on all items at Health and Care when delivered to a mainland UK address. Your order is usually dispatched by Royal Mail or better and often dispatched the same day when ordered before 2.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Comfortable and helpful for my thumb

Physiotherapist gave me one for my left thumb as my hands are bad with arthritis and tendinitis my right thumb has been bothering me so I ordered one for my right thumb and it’s helping me a lot I would highly recommend this right thumb support easy to order and speedy delivery

Very happy with support for my arthritic thumb but would have preferred the fit to be a little longer at the wrist as it tends to be a bit uncomfortable where the wrist flexes.

I was given one of these supports by the hospital before I had a trapiezectomy on my left hand and found it the best support I had used. I now need to get my right hand done and decided to buy one myself while waiting for the procedure. They are comfortable with rigid support between the thumb and fore finger and not on the side of the hand where pressure hurts. Definitely recommended.

After having a operation on my right thumb due to unbearable pain at times ,I knew exactly what I needed to help have to help with the pain I now have in my left thumb without having to see a doctor .This helps to support and relieve pain .

Wrist measured right on 17 cm, opted for small size and is a perfect fit. Delivered quickly. Pleased with the thumb support, keeps my thumb very well supported when I have an arthritis flare up.

Fantastic God send for better sleep

The thumb support arrived in less than 24 hours! Amazingly efficient service that other companies should emulate.
The Thuasne Ligaflex Rhizo Thumb support has been a God send. I can now sleep at night without being woken by pain caused by inadvertently leaning or pressing on my thumb when asleep. I tried a cheaper support but it was useless. This one is comfortable and 100% effective at stopping the joint pain. I only wear it at night as I don't want to get totally dependent on it. The minute I take it off in the morning I remember why I use it!
Were it not for the inability to see a GP I would have sought help by now. They would not put arthritic thumb joints high on the must see list. If you have osteoarthritis in a thumb then maybe this is worth a try. I'm so happy I did even though a splint can only ever be supportive not curative.
My wrist size is 17 so on the edge of both sizes. I opted for small which was the right choice.

Suffering from Basel arthritis

I have tried very many thumb supports over a lot of years as I suffer with Basel Arthritis in both thumbs. After a trapezeiectomy on my right thumb the hospital supplied one of these as an ongoing support while recovering . It is by far the very best thumb brace/ support I have found, Now waiting for the left hand to be done so have purchased a brace to ensure that I can’t over use and end up in pain .

I was giving one of these by the hospital while I waiting for a joint replacement I have since purchased 2 more from this site very quick delivery and good communication . The brace really supports base of the thumb and reduces the pain I have used differrent braces over the years but this is the best highly recommend it

This thumb support is very effective in protecting my thumb and preventing further damage. It's well made and the available adjustments mean that I can get a good, comfortable fit. My thumb is improving daily, after weeks of discomfort before I bought the support.
