The X-Strap can be easily adjusted to position the first metacarpal joint (base of the thumb) in the desired degree of abduction to help stabilise the CMC joint, while still allowing the thumb to have functional mobility.

Moreover, the adjustable Stay Pod works together with the X-Strap to provide gentle pressure, and help stabilise the CMC joint. The pod contains a malleable aluminium stay, and is easily bent and re-positioned by a medical professional to provide a more customised fit.

Is This Brace Suitable for Either Hand?

No, to ensure the best possible fit, the MedSpec CMC-X Thumb Brace is available separately for either the Left or the Right hand. You can select the preferred option from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.

The CMC-X Thumb Brace is also available with a speed lacing system for faster and easier application. This version of the brace is bilateral, which means that it will fit both your left or your right hand.

What Materials Is the CMC-X Thumb Brace Made From?

This state-of-the-art thumb support is made from CoolFlex material, which is a breathable, hypoallergenic material that provides comfort and compression. The CMC-X brace does not contain any natural latex rubber or neoprene.

Can I Wash It?

Yes, you can machine wash the MedSpec CMC-X Thumb Brace using a gentle cycle, then air dry it. Do not bleach, iron or tumble dry the brace.
