What Size Shoe Do I Need?

The Darco OrthoWedge Shoe is sold as a single item suitable for either foot and is available to buy in five sizes. Please select the relevant size from the table below.

Can I Wear the OrthoWedge Outdoors?

While the Healing Shoe isn't specifically designed for outdoor use, it is made with a robust tread on the bottom, so should provide enough traction and support for most terrains. Getting the OrthoWedge Shoe wet or dirty will not immediately prevent it from working properly, however, we recommend that you wipe down and clean the shoe as soon as possible to ensure it stays in good condition.

How Do I Use the Shoe Correctly?

1. Open the shoe and place your foot in the shoe
2. Ensure the foot is securely positioned 
3. Place the heel of the foot as far back as possible
4. Close the shoe with the hook and loop fasteners
5. Ensure that the shoe isn't secured too loosely or tightly 
6. When being worn, ensure that you take greater care when walking

Please note that the outer edges of the shoe (by the toes) should not touch the ground when you are walking. This could negatively impact the outcome of the surgery.

Is the Post-Operative Shoe Adjustable?

To give bandaged or swollen feet the room needed, the OrthoWedge Shoe is adjustable for customisable use based on personal preference. The fasteners allow the wearer to secure the shoe as loosely or firmly as they find comfortable.

Does the Darco Shoe Fit Either Foot?

Yes, the Darco Shoe is designed to easily fit your left or your right foot. As this is a pack of two, it means that you can provide protection for both feet.

What If This Shoe Makes Walking Uncomfortable?
