Fitness-Mad Pro Leather Weightlifting Belt

If you frequently perform heavy lifts that strain your mid and lower back, the Fitness-Mad Pro Leather Weightlifting Belt is for you. A lot of weightlifters at the gym these days go beltless, putting their body at risk of fatigue and strain.

Though you don't need to wear a belt for smaller loads, being belted for heavy loads can work wonders to support the back, improve performance, and increase muscle activity. This belt offers maximum comfort, with a contoured shape to make sure it fits you just right.

Which Size Is Right for Me?

Size Waist Circumference
Medium 77 - 94cm (30 - 36")
Large 95 - 111cm (36 - 44")
Extra Large 110 - 124cm (43 - 49")

Who Can Use the Fitness-Mad Pro Leather Weightlifting Belt?

Heavy lifters should definitely ensure to wear a belt when lifting large weights. Using a weightlifting belt for heavy loads increases intra-abdominal pressure to make the torso sturdier. This makes the lower back stronger and less fatigued during lifts. This enables the wearer to lift more heavy weights, building muscle without exhausting the body.

When Should You Use a Weightlifting Belt?

Weightlifting belts do not need to be used for regular machine weights or small dumbbells. Only use one when lifting large weights on a barbell, including squats, overhead presses and deadlifts. This is because these lifts place strain on your mid and lower back. You should wear a belt when:

  • Performing maximal lifts: The belt supports the wearer's back to prevent damage during heavy-loaded exercises such as the deadlift.
  • The back is hyperextended: The belt will hold the lower torso rigid, reducing overextension. This includes exercises like the military press.
