White Derby Walking Stick for the Blind

The White Derby Walking Stick for the Blind is a white stained beech Derby-handle walking stick. It is robust for reliable support, and the white colour makes it ideal for blind or visually impaired individuals.

Robust Shaft

The White Derby Walking Stick has been constructed from beech wood. This makes the stick extremely robust and reliable, providing practical support while walking.

The stick offers a height of 36" (91cm). This makes it ideal for most individuals.

Derby Handle

The handle of the walking stick is presented in a Derby style. This is a popular handle type due to ease of gripping. The palm and fingers can easily be wrapped around the handle for comfort of use.

The Derby handle is also slightly curved in shape. This means that it can be hooked over the arm or on the edge of a table when both hands are required, eliminating the need to place it on the floor and subsequently having to bend down to retrieve it.

Stained White

As well as providing the user with support as a walking aid, the walking stick also has a functional role. The beech wood stick has been stained a white colour, making it ideal for anybody with blindness or visual impairment.

The stick can be used on its own as a practical mobility support, also serving as a symbol stick to inform others of visual impairment. It can also be used alongside a guide stick or probing cane, offering optimal mobility support alongside the guiding properties of the other, much lighter cane.

Rubber Ferrule

The Derby Walking Stick includes a rubber ferrule at the base of the shaft. This helps to reduce the risk of slipping by providing friction between the shaft and the ground.

The ferrule also helps to increase the longevity of the walking stick. It takes the force of the ground whenever the stick strikes against it, working to protect the beech shaft.

Cut from Sustainable Forests

Any green-minded individuals will appreciate the knowledge that this walking stick has been cut from sustainable forests. With this in mind, the support provided by the stick can be utilised with the peace of mind that it has been materialised as sustainably as possible.
