Ottobock Thumboform Long Thumb Support

The Ottobock Thumboform Long Thumb Support can be use to treat a number of common conditions that affect the thumb, such as lesions, rhizarthrosis and post-injury irritation. Using a plastic insert, this easy-fit sleeve provides stabilising support for the thumb joint while being comfortable to wear at the same time.

• 'Skier's thumb' - lesions of the Ulnar Collateral Ligament
• Functional treatment of Rhizarthrosis
• Chronic post-traumatic irritations in both the metacarpo and thumb saddle joint

Warming Compression

The Ottobock Thumboform is made using special Thermoprene material, which provides a healthy dose of warmth and compression to alleviate pains. By combining heat with compression, this support improves blood circulation, which then accelerates the body's natural healing processes.

Heat-Mouldable Extensor Stay

The removable extensor stay can be moulded by you using hot water. This may come in handy if you need to adjust the support to better suit your needs. However, we recommend consulting a physician before making to many adjustments to this thumb support.

How Do I Fit the OttoBock Thumboform Support?

Before fitting this wrist support, make sure all the hook-and-loop closures are left open, then follow these instructions:

1. Pull the support over the wrist and place the thumb inside the loop
2. Fasten the hook-and-loop straps around the wrist and adjust the closure thumb for a secure fit

(If you are using the support to limit wrist extension, remove the palmar bar before fastening the straps)

Washing Instructions

• Remove all plastic splints
• Fasten all straps
• Wash in 40° water with standard detergent
• Air dry only
