Aircast Air-Stirrup Ankle Brace

When you've just injured your ankle, the most important thing is to recover quickly so you can return to everyday life. The Aircast Air-Stirrup Ankle Brace is commonly worn immediately after injuring your ankle and throughout recovery because it helps accelerate rehabilitation.

Sizing Information for the Aircast Air Stirrup Ankle Brace

The Air-Stirrup Ankle Brace is available in four different sizes based on the height of the brace. To find out which length is best for you, simply measure from your heel all the way up to the location pictured below.

Once you have this measurement, please consult the sizing chart beneath to find the right size for you and your ankle.

Indications for the Air-Stirrup Ankle Support

  • Acute injury

Pre-Inflated Air Cells

The Aircast Air-Stirrup Ankle Brace features two pre-inflated, overlapping air cells (distal and proximal) to provide support and produce graduated compression while you walk around. This helps reduce oedema (i.e. swelling which is caused by fluid trapped in your body's tissues) and helps accelerate rehabilitation of ankle sprains. The support is anatomically designed to help immobilise the area and limit any pain you're experiencing as a result of the condition.

Can These Air Cells Be Inflation Further?

Absolutely. If you find that your air cells lose bulk over time, simply take the inflation tube that is supplied with your brace and inflate the cells on either side further until a comfortable level of padding is achieved.

Waterproof Design

Designed to allow to you perform all the activities you enjoy, the Aircast Air-Stirrup Brace has a waterproof design. This allows you to wear the support in the pool or in the shower if your physician has told you to wear it at all times. After you get the support wet, it should be rinsed and allowed to air dry before you use it again.

Delivery is free of charge on all items at Health and Care when delivered to a mainland UK address. Your order is usually dispatched by Royal Mail or better and often dispatched the same day when ordered before 2.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Expensive but works well

This item seems quite expensive and I expect it won't last more than a few months continuous use (if needed). However, it does the job well. It may not fit easily in all trainers and pushes the trainer out wide around the ankle. I found that this actually helped as it stopped the trainer aggravating the damaged tendons on the outside of the foot. Overall, I would buy again and recommend but retain an interest in alternatives.

Air Stirrup dissappointment

Purchased this for my husbands acute sprained ankle. He was unable to wear it with any of his boots or shoes so really disappointing. Good quality product that should work well, just not for him.

I sprained my ankle while living in France. This is the standard issue brace by the A & E department that I visited. The French Doctors have chosen it for a reason. It works. It feels light but does in fact give great support. Certainly helped me get on with life while my ankle recovered.

Excellent product to support a turned ankle. Very comfortable and fits into a normal track shoe.
Undetectable under relaxed style trousers.
Quick delivery which was essential for the relief of discomfort.

I have tried the ankle Brace,and I think it will be O.K. however I still need to give it further trials over longer distances which I will do in the near future

As a result of wearing callipers as a child and then breaking a right ankle 50 years ago, I experience severe pain and swelling after walking and standing. The ankle brace obviates that and enables me to walk long distances. It is invaluable .
