Will the Maternity Trochanteric Support Belt Fit Me?

Thanks to its easy-to-adjust fastenings this belt is universally sized and will fit the majority of users.  The Maternity Trochanteric Support Belt has a total length of 173cm and is 5cm wide.

What Are the Benefits of Wearing a Maternity Belt?

This maternity belt will support your pelvis and stomach, helping to reduce pregnancy aches and pains. Maternity belts more evenly distribute your baby's weight over your abdomen and lower back, helping alleviate pressure on lower body muscles, ligaments, joints, and back.

Why Choose a Trochanteric Support Belt?

A trochanteric belt is a supportive brace that can help alleviate pain, reduce inflammation and make going about your daily tasks less of a chore. During pregnancy it's common for the sacroiliac joint in your pelvis to widen, which in turn can lead to hypermobility.

This in turn can lead to difficulty staying in one position for any length of time, a pain at the base of the spine, and difficulty climbing stairs or lying on one side. A trochanteric belt is designed to limit excess movement of the sacroiliac joint, reducing the stress on tendons and joints and promoting proper alignment of the pelvis.

Is Wearing a Trochanteric Support Belt Completely Safe?

This type of support belt provides support to your tendons, not muscles. This means there's no risk of muscle weakness in the lower back, allowing your tendons to relax and heal without causing muscle atrophy.

Please note that if you are concerned about wearing the support belt, we recommend that you consult your doctor before ordering.

What Conditions Are This Support Belt Not Suitable For?

  • Arthritic and rheumatic conditions
  • Pelvis pain caused by leg inequality, orthotic devices such as heel lifts may be more suitable in this case
  • Generic Pelvis Pain
  • Sacroiliac Joint Pain
  • Symphylolysis

Washing and Care Instructions

  • Close over all hook/loop straps
  • Hand wash in cool water using mild detergent
  • Rinse and dry flat
  • Do not spin or tumble dry
  • Do not use fabric conditioner at any time
  • Check for any degradation that may affect use
  • Periodically check hook/loop fasteners are operating securely

Little bit pricey and no instructions

So far so good, it's just a little overpriced for what it is and I'm disappointed that it came with no instructions which are also missing from the website so I've no idea if in wearing inside out, upside down, left to right handed, correct position and what position to use for seated/standing as well as where the thicker moveable band should sit and it you try to zoom in on the picture it's blurry for me on my phone.

Bought to support my Pubic Symphysis disfunction. It does help to wear it when doing more energetic activities, but not when sitting down. Velcro fastening could do with upgrading to aid tightening!

I'm in the early stages of SPD (I'm 5 months pregnant), and this definitely helps if I'm going to be doing a substantial amount of walking.
