Who Can Use the Cuff?

This cuff has been specially designed to help people with hip, back or rib related injuries and alleviate pain and discomfort during recovery.

What Are the Benefits of Using Cryotherapy?

Using cryotherapy as a treatment for injury has a number of positive effects. These include:

  • Quicker recovery times
  • Improved mobility
  • Better circulation throughout affected area
  • Significantly reduces swelling and inflammation

What Size Cuff Should I Choose?

The Aircast Back/Hip/Rib Cold Therapy Cryo/Cuff comes in a universal size measuring up to 45 inches that should fit the waist of most adults. The diameter of the cuff measures 10.3 inches by 7.6 inches.

Will This Cryo/Cuff Cover the Ribs, Back and Hips Simultaneously?

Yes, the Aircast Back/Hip/Rib Cryo/Cuff is specially designed to cover the entire treatment area.

Which Cooler Unit Should I Choose?

The Aircast Cryo Cuff system can be used with either one of two cooler units depending on your needs. Both cooler units offer six to eight hours of gravity-fed compression therapy, but differ in the amount of compression therapy they can provide. The two cooler units are:

How Do I Use the Cryo/Cuff?

See below for a step-by-step guide on how to prepare, apply and use the cuff for treatment:

Step One: Prepare Cooler

To begin, fill the cooler to the line and top with ice, placing the insulation disk on top. Connect the blue tube to the cooler and close the lid. Allow up to five minutes for the water to cool.

Step Two: Apply the Cuff

To apply, simply wrap the cuff around your waist, using the Velcro strap to secure.

Step Three: Fill the Cuff

Connect the blue tube to the cuff and open the air vent located on the lid of the cooler. Lift the cooler so that its base is parallel with the top of the cuff, this will allow the cuff to fill with water. Hold this position for around one minute. Close the air vent and disconnect the cuff from the cooler using the metal tab provided.

Step Four: Rechill the Water

To rechill the water after treatment, reconnect the blue tube with the cuff. Raise the cuff so that it is above the level of the cooler, allowing it to drain. Wait one to two minutes for the water to chill before raising the cooler above the cuff to repeat treatment.

How Long Can I Use the Cryo/Cuff for During Each Session?

You can use the cuff to treat an injury for up to two hours per therapy session. It is recommended that you leave at least twenty minutes between each session to allow time for recovery.

Should I Cover My Skin When Using the Cuff?

Yes, it is crucial that you cover your skin while using the cuff. At no point during treatment should the skin and cuff be in contact. Loosely wrap the target area with a cloth or bandage to create a barrier between the skin and the cuff before use.

How Do I Clean the Cuff?

To keep the cuff clean between uses, simply hand wash with soap and water before leaving to air dry.
