Locomotor Rota Stand Solo

The Locomotor Rota Stand Solo revolutionises sit to stand and pivot transfers.

The Locomotor Rota Stand Solo allows for use where the carer does not need to counterbalance the Rota Stand Solo as the client pulls themselves to a standing position and can assist the client to stand before rotating the client to a new seated position.

The Locomotor Rota Stand Solo has a patented T Bar mechanism in the base which allows a sit to stand and pivot transfer to be carried out by a single nurse or carer thus reducing the time it takes to carry out the task as well as halving the cost of having two carers/nurses present during the transfer.

Features of the Locomotor Rota Stand Solo

  • Stabilizing bar to allow a one person transfer
  • Height adjustable frame to suit all clients
  • Central wheels allow easy positioning of the stand
  • Large handlebar for a secure grip
  • 200kg weight capacity

How to use the Locomotor Rota Stand Solo

  • Before using your Rotastand - Adjust the height of the handlebar and the shin pad to suit the patient/client. The shin pad can be moved up or down by 40mm by removing the two fixing screws and attaching it using the two alternative fixing holes.
  • The stand can be manoeuvred on its rear wheels and brought to position in front of the patient/client. Assist the patient/client to the front of their chair, ready to stand and place the patient/client’s feet on the non slip foot plate and gently wheel the stand up to the patient/client on its central wheels. The stand should end up with the patient/client’s shins firmly against the shin pad.
  • From this position ensure stabilising bar is fully extended and encourage the patient/client, using the handlebar, to pull themselves into a standing position. The nurse/carer should position themselves at the side of the patient/client with one hand on the handlebar bar ready to assist if required. Once in a standing position, ensure stabilising bar is fully retracted and gently rotate the stand to the position required ensure stabilising bar is fully extended before encouraging the patient/client to sit, reversing the above procedure.
  • The stand can also be used in the same way as a conventional Rota stand. In this way the carer would counterbalance the stand from the front by holding the handle bar, and placing a foot on the base plate as the patient/client brings themselves to a standing position. The stabilising bar is thus not needed to perform this transfer
