About the Testing Method

The PA Vision Infant Acuity Flip Test is a collection of grey pages, each with an image made up of black and white outlines. These outlines vary in narrowness, and, as a result, an image will appear invisible to the subject when the lines of an image fall outside of their range of vision. The test exploits our preference for looking at images rather than blank spaces, and this preference for images allows the examiner to quantify the subject's visual acuity simply by noting their eye movements when shown a page.
