Which Size Is Right for Me?

To find the perfect size Quick Fit Knee Brace for you, simply measure the circumference of your thigh 15cm above your kneecap using a fabric tape measure. If you fall between sizes, we recommend you choose the larger size and adjust the straps for a compressive fit.

How Compressive Is the Donjoy Hinged Knee Brace?

The Donjoy Quick Fit Knee Brace is available in eight different sizes and is designed to feel compressive in order to provide the correct level of compression. If you have correctly followed our sizing guide above, your knee brace should feel comfortable and compressive without causing pain or irritation.

How Do I Fit My Donjoy Quick Fit Knee Brace?

Once you've chosen the correct size, you can wear the brace straight out of the box. Simply:

Fully open all straps
Pull the brace on until the patella ring is centred around the knee cap
Pull the front straps through D-rings and secure on Velcro
Pull the rear straps through D-rings and secure on Velcro
Adjust all straps to your comfort, starting with front straps

The Donjoy Quick Fit Hinged Brace provides a combination of compression, medial and lateral support, patella support and popliteal comfort to aid in the speed of recovery. Can I Wear the Donjoy Quick Fit Underneath Clothes?

Some people prefer a knee support that can be worn discreetly underneath clothing, as this draws less unwanted attention. Despite it's impressive protective capabilities, the Donjoy Quickfit is sleek and slender enough to be worn underneath trousers (excluding skinny jeans) in order to be hidden from view.

How Do I Adjust the Donjoy Hinged Knee Brace?

You can adjust the Donjoy Hinged Knee Brace in two different ways. You can adjust the level of patella support at different areas of the knee and adjust the patella donut to a different compression level as required.

Adjusting the Patella Support

To change the positioning of the support, simply shift the donut shaped hole into the correct position. You can view the correct position for each support style below:

Superior Support: Top of the knee
Inferior Support: Bottom of the knee
Lateral Support: Outside of the knee
Medial Support: Inside of the knee

If you are unsure of the support you need, please ask your GP or a medical professional.

Adjusting the Compression Level

To adjust the level of compression, you will need to trim the donut ring that is supplied with your purchase. To do this, please follow the below instructions:

Remove the side stays and hinges and turn the brace inside out.
Locate the best pre-cut openings in patella donut cover, corresponding to final required patella donut shape.
With a pair of scissors, pull out the inner band of the cover opening and cut. Repeat on the other side.
Pull out the inner band that is no longer required.
Return braces and hinges to their original position.

Best knee support I've had, but....

Having playing basketball in my 20's to a high level, and having knee injuries, which I'm now in my 40's and suffering from the side effects. Torn minicus and osteoarthritis! (Hench the support)

Now, this is a substantial support with great strap adjustments and on it feels great.

If not for the following issue it would be a 5 for sure.

I am finding largely the best way to wear this support is actually over my tracksuit / jeans. These are close fit jeans. It may not work so well with baggy jeans. I'm niticing after not many wears, one side of the fabric that is over the hinge is rubbing on the inside of whatever bottoms I have on. (Wouldn't be an issue in shorts) This has meant that after only having the support for 2 weeks, and not wearing it everyday, as sometimes I wear a different one, or none if not going far, I'm seeing the fabric is thinning and freying from being rubbed.

While the fabric seems to be appropriate and comfy, clearly in these areas it isn't robust enough. Hence me now wearing the support over whatever bottoms I wear. I don't mind so much when I wear black, but with blue jeans, not so much.

If I didn't do this I doubt the support would last out a month. At £50 a pop, this wouldn't be value for money.

Donjoy - may I suggest revisiting the fabric around the outter hinge area as described as not everyone will be in shorts.

Apart from that it's nearly perfect. It's not so sweaty and hot next to the skin either which surprised me.

If the support / stabilisation and general feeling of confidence when I wear it wasn't so good, I would have given is 3 or even 2 as the fabric issue is pretty important. But I feel having this support and confidence when wearing it for work (photographer, mainly weddings) is a must as I change direction, side step etc quickly and often. So value added there.

Maybe wearing the support for a long day adds to more wear. But surely that's what we buy these things for.

Couldn't put weight on my knee, as I discovered I have degenerative meniscus oesteoarthritis, so with physio and rest, I then bought this knee support which is great. It fits well and gives me the support I need for walking. I still carry out my exercises but this support is there when I need it.

Excellent brace

Decades of sporting activities have resulted in an unstable knee and MCL damage. This brace is by far the best I have found. The loops make fitting easy, and the 6 straps allow optimum fit, comfort and compression. The lycra back panel makes it much less bulky behind the knee than other braces. It stops all medial / lateral rotation.

much better than a tube brace

I believe I have a damaged MCL. This product is easy to put on and very adjustable to suit different leg shapes. I have broad thighs and find it tends to slip downwards a bit. After wearing it for serveral hours though my knee gets very stiff and painful, I suggest taking medical advice before purchase.

Just started to wear it. Think it’s too early to properly review but it did help me get about at work yesterday without excruciating pain and stress in my knee joint. I’m having to apply full compression though and not sure if that’s right as very sore when I remove it?

Overall this product is good value for money.

I completely tore my ACL in December and have been struggling to get back to activities. The brace is an entry level brace from Donjoy, which makes exceptionally good braces but at high price.
With it, I was able to take part in volleyball training to a degree. Definitely provided the stability to move about.
I ordered a medium because the measurements just about matches up. I think a large would have been a little more comfortable, so 1 star removed for misleading measurements.
