Product Details

Flexyfoot Anatomical Soft Grip Handle Closed Cuff Crutch

If you've suffered a lower limb injury, crutches can be an invaluable aid to your recovery, bearing your weight and allowing you to maintain mobility as your injuries heal. However, standard crutch ferrules (the cap at the bottom of the crutch) are prone to transmitting the shock generated when they make contact with the floor, causing pain and discomfort in the upper limbs. Coming fitted with the Flexyfoot ferrule, the Flexyfoot Anatomical Soft Grip Handle Closed Cuff Crutch has been developed to provide a solution to these problems.

Equipped with a specially-designed anatomical handle, this product is designed to significantly alleviate the pain and discomfort that is associated with extended periods of crutch use. The support also helps you walk on rough terrain safely as the Flexyfoot ferrule significantly improves grip.

Key Information

  • Height: Adjustable from 75cm to 105cm (29.5 to 41")
  • Shaft Colour: Matte Black
  • Shaft Material: Aluminium/Fibreglass
  • Ferrule Style: Flexyfoot
  • Weight: 600g
  • Maximum User Weight: 150kg (23.6 stone)

Shock Absorption

Traditional ferrules (the caps on the bottom of crutches) do not absorb the shock which is generated every time the crutch touches the ground, which then travels through the hand and arm, leading to fatigue and discomfort. The Flexyfoot ferrule's uniquely designed bellows absorb shock, which in turn can help relieve this pain.

This shock absorption is ideal for people that are suffering from elbow and shoulder pain as a result of using crutches or other walking aids. The Flexyfoot features two parts: a collar and a pleated bellows. The bellows act like a spring to absorb shock, meaning less is transferred to your body compared to traditional rubber ferrules.

Are the Cuffs Hinged?

Yes, the cuffs are hinged. As they can be adjusted, they are more comfortable for you.

Perfect for Rough Terrain

Because the bellows make the ferrule flexible, the Flexyfoot will stay in contact with the ground even over rough terrain, helping to provide greater grip. This can help make you feel more comfortable and secure and allow you to be more active when wearing your crutches.

The Flexyfoot Crutch can make it much safer to walk on rough surfaces

Ergonomic Design

The Flexyfoot Anatomical Soft Grip Handle Closed Cuff Crutch is built for comfort. Its anatomical grip handle is moulded to the shape of hand, providing maximum comfort by distributing pressure through a larger area. Its closed cuff is designed to keep the crutch connected to the arm, allowing for more freedom of the hands, while clip height adjustment allows an exact fit to be obtained. What's more, the Closed Cuff Crutch even includes front and rear reflectors for maximum safety in darker environments.

How Tall Is the Anatomical Soft Grip Handle Cuff?

The Anatomical Soft Grip Handle Cuff measures from 75cm to 105cm from the ferrule at the bottom up to the top of the handle. As the height can be adjusted, this helps to ensure that you can use the crutch as comfortably as possible.

Please note that these crutches are supplied as singles and come in specific left and right hand versions; please select the appropriate version for you from the drop-down menu above.

From day one I found the grip much more comfortable and the foot felt very secure indeed. Much better than the standard NHS issue elbow crutch.....and this one doesn't clunck every time you take a step. Nice and quiet. Highly recommended.

Moving from the standard NHS spec crutches to these, no more shoulder or wrist pain. Feel so secure using them.

These crutches are comfortable to use, especially because of the lovely feet, they make such a difference to the wear on my shoulders.

The delivery was fine, but the packing was a bit battered, and there were no instructions about how to adjust the length of the crutches.

Adjustment plug is stuck!

These are really smart looking and comfortable from what I can tell so far. I've managed to adjust one of the crutches to my height, and the lower part of the second. However, the top plug that is supposed to pop out so I can adjust the upper part is much stiffer than the rest and I've repeatedly tried to do as I did the others, but this one won't budge. Unfortunately, I live alone and it is lockdown so I have no one to help me. Therefore I haven't used them to walk outside because they are different heights. Very frustrating. I'm scared to try forcing the plastic tabs in case they break. Not sure what to do.
Apart from this I can tell they are good quality and I really like them.

An excellent product that takes the pressure off my hands and wrists. They are also very light in weight and look great into the bargain.

Bought these as my 25 year old anatomical crutches needed replacing. Very comfortable to use as partial/full weight bearing crutches. Light weight but sturdy. Added to this are flexi foot ferrules.

The crutch is really good. But where you hold the crutch the hand piece is a, little to norrow. But otherwise very good. Also I like the light reflecters on it, good idea.

I ordered both left and right hand Flexyfoot Anatomical Soft Grip Handle Closed Cuff Crutches. What an astonishing difference in both grip and pain relief to the standard NHS issue ones. I have no transferred pain to my shoulders now due to the shock absorbing ability of these. I ordered one day and received the very next whereas other more expensive companies were quoting almost a week delivery. I will not hesitate to use again and even my initial phone call to customer services prior to ordering was answered very quickly and professionally to my full satisfaction. Splendid.
