How Does The Child Choking Manikin Work?

This child manikin kit comes with two choking objects on a string to represent a small hot dog slice and a hard boiled sweet, so that students can practise clearing a blocked airway with abdominal thrusts or back blows.

Once a choking object is lodged in the airway, students can decide where to place their hands using the anatomical landmarks for reference and how much pressure to complete the manoeuvre. If correct procedures are performed, the manikin will expel the object causing the obstruction.

How Can I Clean This Manikin?

The head and torso can be washed in warm, soapy water which should then be rinsed thoroughly and dried. You should take care not to allow water to enter the internal parts of the foam filled manikin.
