Geemarc Amplipower 50 White Amplified Telephone

If you're having difficulties hearing, the Geemarc Amplipower 50 White Amplified Telephone will change your life for the better. This simple yet efficient telephone features the highest receiver volume available on the market, as well as an exceptionally straightforward design that can help you get back in touch with friends and family, and put an end to calls where you struggle to catch everything being said at the other end of the phone line.

What's Included with the Amplipower 50?

  • 1 x Amplipower 50 White Amplified Telephone
  • 1 x Adaptor plug
  • 1 x Telephone cord (2.5m)

How Loud Is the Loudest Telephone?

The volume of the Geemarc Amplipower 50 Amplified Telephone is fully adjustable. An easy-to-use slider sets the volume, and ranges from a normal receiver volume to an extremely loud 60dB, which is approximately eight times as loud as a standard telephone. You can leave this adjustable slider where it is, so there is no need to adjust the volume for every call, but it does let you turn the volume up or down depending on how loud the other person is when they are speaking to you.

Tone control helps you adjust how the person's voice comes across to you, boosting difficult-to-hear elements of speech like the letter "T" and "S" in conversation that can easily be missed if you are hard of hearing. Moreover, you can also adjust the ringing volume to up 80dB, making sure you never miss another call.

  1. Connect the handset cord.
  2. Connect the line cord.

How Easy To Use Is the Geemarc Amplipower 50?

The Geemarc Amplipower 50 is easier to use than most amplified telephones, which makes it the ideal solution for the elderly, as well as people suffering from dementia. To answer an incoming call, all you need to do is lift the handset and speak. On completion of the call, replace the handset in the cradle to release the line.

Does the Amplipower 50 Telephone Include an Answering Machine?

The Amplipower 50 is designed to be very easy to use. It is ideal for users looking for nothing but an extra loud receiver and ringing volume, so to keep it as simple as possible, it does not include an answering machine. If you're looking for an amplified telephone with an answering machine, we highly recommend the Geemarc CL555 Amplified Big Button Telephone, which has an adjustable receiver volume of up to 50dB, and a ringing volume of up to 80dB.

Can I Add Additional Handsets to This System?

While the Amplipower 50 can be used on the same phone line as additional cordless phones, handsets can unfortunately not be connected directly to the system itself. If you'd like a system you can pair cordless handsets to, we recommend the Geemarc AmpliDECT 295 Amplified Corded and Cordless Combi Pack. This includes a corded amplified phone and one cordless handset, and you can pair up to an additional three handsets by purchasing the Extra Handset for the AmpliDECT 295.

How Suitable Is This Amplified Phone for People with Dementia?

The great thing about this Amplipower 50 Telephone is how easy it is to use right away. It has a smart and simple design, and there are no activation buttons for answering a call; simply pick up the receiver and start talking. This makes it ideal for people who are used to a classic telephone, helping them make the often tricky transition to a new piece of technology straightforward.

Is This Amplified Telephone Wall Mountable?

Yes, you can easily mount this phone on the wall. To do so, drill two holes in the wall (80mm apart) and insert the wall plugs and the screws, leaving about 6mm of the screws projecting from the wall. Then slide the telephone downwards to secure its position.

Does the Amplipower 50 Telephone Have a Hands-Free Function?

Ideal for users with painful or arthritic hands, the Amplipower 50 does feature a hands-free function, which can be activated by simply pressing a button. When the phone rings, answer it by pressing the "Handsfree/Handset" button.

The batteries are required for the phone to ring in case of a power failure, so we strongly recommend you insert them.

Got this phone for my Mother after trying various other ones. No more frustrating calls with Mum not being able to hear me, very simple to set up, very loud and simple to use, Mum has Alzheimer's and is very hard of hearing, refused to wear hearing aids so this phone is perfect for her. Extremely pleased with this.

Loud phone
Sunday, 28 April 2019  |

Bought this for my 93 year old Dad who uses the phone regularly but was finding hearing the phone ring and also hearing conversations more and more difficult. It’s actually too loud when the volume is up to full max at the moment for him but the volume he has it set to now is so much better . Also giving him the option to increase it more . He can actually hear the conversations a lot better and that’s without the other person having to shout down down the phone . A relief for me too! Pleased I bought this item. I’d recommend it. Hope it lasts.
