The Carephone: Modern Caring With A Personal Touch

Tuesday, 3 November 2015  |  John

Carephone was founded over 20 years ago, with the purpose of helping the elderly live more independently and helping carers give the best possible help to those who need it. Since then, Carephone has worked to deliver products to the public which fit their noble goal.

Caring At Home

The biggest part of Carephone’s approach to caring in the 21st century is the Carephone Landline. This system simply plugs into a standard phone socket and allows an elderly person to get help in an emergency as quickly as possible.

The main part of the Carephone Landline is the pendant, which is designed to be worn around the neck. It wirelessly connects to the base station and allows the wearer to instantly call a pre-programmed emergency number (for example family or friends) in case of an emergency.

Carephone’s dedication to their customers can be seen in the details of the Carephone Landline’s pendant. Unlike most other care alarms in the UK, the pendant includes a speaker and a landline, so the wearer can tell the emergency contact what has happened and can get reassurance that help is on the way.

Moreover, the pendant is even waterproof, so it can be worn in the shower or bath so that they aren’t out of the reach of help when they might need it most.

Remote Caring

Another factor of Carephone’s caring strategy is the Carephone Pebbell GPS SOS Tracker. It’s a simple, incredibly easy to use GPS tracker which makes it incredibly easy to keep track of elderly relatives, children and even pets!

The Pebbell tracker will send a text to the emergency contact number with a Google Maps link to their exact location when the SOS button is pressed. It then makes a call to the phone number, so that the wearer knows that help is on the way and the carer knows exactly what’s wrong.

What’s more, you can even set up a “geofence” – a virtual GPS border. When the Pebbell goes out of the geofence, a text is sent to the emergency number with the GPS location. This is particularly useful for pets who like to wander or for elderly relatives with dementia. If you’re worried where the tracker is, you can send a text to the Pebbell and get back its location instantly.

The Pebbell tracker makes it easy to look after your family and loved ones, and it enables you to let them act more independently, safe in the knowledge that they’re just the press of a button away.
