Sizing Information

Buying the correct sized brace is simple. All you need to do is measure the circumference of your thigh, approximately 15cm (6 inches) above the kneecap. Once you've done that, you can choose your correct size by matching your thigh circumference to the table below.

Where to Measure Your Thigh

If you are between sizes, we would recommend opting for the size above.

Size Thigh Circumference (cm)
Extra Small 33 - 39cm
Small 39 - 47cm
Medium 47 - 53cm
Large 53 - 60cm
Extra Large 60 - 67cm
XX-Large 67 - 75cm
XXX-Large 75 - 81cm

Fitting Instructions

Follow the below instructions when fitting your brace (a full instruction guide is supplied with your purchase).

  1. With Your Purchase:
    1. With your purchase, you will receive the brace, a key and some user instructions.
  2. Fitting your Brace:
    1. The brace is fitted by tightening and loosening a number of straps which allow you to manipulate the brace.
    2. Place your foot at a 45 degree angle on the floor.
    3. Place your leg through the brace (the lower straps at the back shouldn't be undone).
    4. Position your brace so that the hinge is level with your knee cap. You don't want the hinge to be above, behind or below your knee.
    5. Grab the strap immediately below the hinge and place is above your patella. This strap should prevent the brace from moving, so make sure it is tight enough.
    6. Just lower than that strap you'll find a second strap. This strap can be applied across the shin bone and placed through a D-ring on its opposite side.
    7. The next strap to look for, is the strap on the back of the brace behind your hamstring, which can be looped through a D-Ring and tightened with the Velcro. Just lower than this, will be a second hamstring strap which can be tightened in the same way.
  3. Tightening your Brace:
    1. Use all of the straps on the brace to tighten it to a level that feels comfortable.
  4. How to Offload Pressure:
    1. We would recommend speaking to your GP before you go ahead with this.
    2. With your purchase you'll find a key. The key entry points on the brace are above or below the patella.
    3. Simply insert the key and tighten the brace on the side opposite to the pain.
    4. Do this gradually, as you don't want to over-tighten the brace.
    5. Stand up and test to see if your osteoarthritis pain is still there.
