What Is Cervical Spondylosis?

Cervical spondylosis, also known as cervical osteoarthritis or neck arthritis, is a condition caused by the wear and tear of muscles and bones at the top of the spine. As this is caused by the natural process of ageing, it can affect virtually anybody, with symptoms including stiffness and pain in the neck and shoulders. For some people, it may also caused headaches.

Are There Cervical Spondylosis Treatments?

If you are experiencing symptoms of cervical spondylosis, it's important that you speak to your doctor or pharmacist. They will be able to advise on the right exercises and medication to help relieve your particular neck pain.

In addition to painkillers and neck exercises, using a cervical spondylosis pillow can also help to reduce pain and stiffness, as the unique shape of the pillow helps to align your neck and spine. This means that you will be less likely to wake up in the morning with a stiff neck and shoulders, as the strain on the affected muscles is reduced.

Which Cervical Spondylosis Pillow Is Right For Me?

We recommend either the Harley Original Pillow or the Harley Designer Pillow for alleviating cervical spondylosis symptoms while you sleep. The table below provides a comparison between the two pillows, and beneath that we'll highlight the pros and cons of each pillow to help you make a more informed decision for your needs.

As you can see from the table above, the Harley Original and the Harley Designer pillows are both very similar. They are available in the same sizes, both include a removable cover, and can be used by back, side, and stomach sleepers. The differences you may wish to consider are as follows:

  • Pillow Material: The Original is made from a standard foam, while the Designer is constructed from memory foam. You may prefer the memory foam pillow if you are looking for a supportive pillow that moulds to the shape of your body while evenly distributing your body weight.
  • Pillow Density: The Designer pillow is firmer than the Original pillow due to the more rigid memory foam material. If you prefer a softer pillow, then the Harley Original may bet a better option.
  • Breathability: Owing to the denser material, the Harley Designer Pillow is not quite as breathable as the Harley Original. The Original would be a better option if you find that you often get hot at night and would benefit for a more breathable pillow.

Which Pillow Size Do I Need?

Once you've decided which pillow you'd prefer, you can then select the size you require. Helping to ensure that you can the most comfortable support possible, both the Harley Original and Harley Designer pillows are available in a choice of five sizes: Standard, Plus, Lo-Line, Lo-Line Plus, and Travel.
