Ossur High Arm Sling

When you've undergone surgery on your hand, wrist, arm or shoulder, immobilising the area is of utmost importance to reduce inflammation and aid healing. The Ossur High Arm Sling holds your arm in a raised position while limiting movement to minimise discomfort in the area.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Designed for use following surgery or trauma to the area
  • Provides additional support to your injury
  • Aids recuperation by limiting movement
  • Minimises discomfort to the hand, wrist, arm or shoulder
  • Limits your range of motion to help your injury heal
  • Protects the area against further damage
  • Holds the upper arm in a raised position
  • Breathable nylon and foam laminate construction
  • Easy to apply with touch-and-close fastening
  • Hand washable at 40°C

Why Should You Use the High Arm Support?

Any movement beyond a limited range of motion can cause a recurrence of the initial injury you suffered from. This will only delay your ability to return to your normal activities and routine. The Ossur Arm Sling holds your arm in a raised, neutral position to prevent it from moving in ways that could exacerbate your injury.

Breathable Construction

As slings are generally worn for long periods of time, it's integral that they're as comfortable as possible. Constructed from nylon and foam laminate, the High Arm Sling is breathable for improved comfort. The sling also has adjustable Velcro fastenings that help provide you with personalised support while helping you remain at ease.

Indications for the Immobilising Sling

The Ossur Arm Sling can be used for a range of different conditions. This includes the following:

  • Hand Surgery
  • Post Injury
  • Post Surgery

Sizing of the Arm Support

The High Arm Sling is available in a universal size to fit most people. As it's been designed with adjustable Velcro straps, you can choose the correct level of support you need.

This is a really well made padded arm sling. the straps are a decent width and it looks like it would give full support along the length of the arm. However my husband is very tall and has the arms of a gibbon, so when he put it on it wouldnt support right along to his wrist and as his problem was nearer the wrist it was of no good. might be helpful if there had been a measurement on the description for unnaturally long people!

Bought the arm sllng because there is no other seller that can supply a high arm sling. It supports the arm very well, and can be used by one person very successfully. It keeps the arm supported very well, and relieves the pain in the arm by elevating the arm as high as required.

I bought this following a complex shoulder operation and necessity for long term sling wear. This is a lovely comfortable sling. Much better than those supplied by NHS. However there is one major flaw with this sling. There is one Velcro attachment which takes the strain of both the shoulder strap and the back strap.

Both of these straps have to be pulled tight from two different directions. The Velcro cannot cope with this and pulls apart resulting in total loss of support of the sling. The only way to avoid this is not to pull the straps too tight. Resulting in greatly reduced support from the sling. I got a friend to sew this attachment on with her sewing machine. It took five minutes and does not affect the accessibility of the sling in any way. Now I have a perfectly supportive and comfortable sling.
