Push Ortho Aequi Ankle Brace

The Push Ortho Aequi Ankle Brace is an effective ankle support which offers both excellent mechanical support for a disabled ankle and good wearer comfort. Optimal stabilisation is achieved through wearing the Push Ortho Aequi Ankle Brace with a closed (laced-up) shoe, making it ideal for supporting ankles during sports where a shoe or boot is worn.

Features Of The Push Ortho Aequi Ankle Brace

The Push Ortho Aequi Ankle Brace has a rigid support situated exclusively on the medial side of the ankle and has a recess for the malleolus, the bony prominence on the side of the ankle. The lateral side is made from preformed foam, which easily adapts to the individual anatomy.

The Push Ortho Aequi Ankle Brace fastens with a diagonal strap. Additional elastic straps are used to apply pressure around the ankle. These straps restrict the inversion and eversion movement of the ankle whilst allowing adequate freedom of movement to the plantar and dorsal flexion. This allows you to walk and run as normal. The Push Ortho Aequi Ankle Brace is worn over the sock. For optimal stabilisation the ankle brace should be worn with a laced up shoe.

Indications For Use Of The Push Ortho Aequi Ankle Brace

  • Serious (residual) instability (under high stress)
  • Treatment of acute lateral ankle ligament lesions
  • After-care of conservative or operated ankle fractures
  • Arthrosis with instability without accumulation of fluid
  • Secondary prevention of ankle ligament lesions (under heavy strain without accumulation of fluid

Fitting The Push Ortho Aequi Ankle Brace

The Push Ortho Aequi Ankle Brace has Velcro fastenings marked with symbols to help you fasten the brace in the correct sequence.

  1. Place the Push Ortho Aequi Ankle Brace around the foot. The rigid part should be on the inside of the foot. Lay the long straps to the side of the foot.
  2. Fasten the diagonal strap.
  3. Take hold of the elastic strap at the outer side of the foot. Pull this from the diagonally across the instep, wrap it around the ankle just above the heel and fasten in place.
  4. Finally take hold of the elastic strap on the inside of the foot. Pull this from the instep across the dorsum (top of the foot), wrap it around the ankle over the first strap and fasten in place. The instep is the lower part of the foot, where the strap starts.

Washing Your Push Ortho Aequi Ankle Brace

Before washing, close the Velcro to protect the Push Ortho Aequi Ankle Brace and other laundry. The support can be washed at temperatures up to 30 degrees Celsius, on a delicate fabrics cycle or by hand. Do not use any bleaching agents.

A gentle spin-dry cycle can be used: after this, hang the ankle brace up to dry in the open air (not near a heating source or in a tumble drier). To extend the ankle brace's service life, it should be dried after use, if necessary, before being stored.
