Aircast A60 Ankle Brace Pair and BOSU Ball Balance Training Bundle

The Aircast A60 is great for stabilising the ankle as you recover, but to recover completely you'll need to carry out a series of strengthening and range of motion exercises. The Aircast A60 Ankle Brace Pair and BOSU Ball Balance Training Bundle combines support for both of your ankles with a BOSU Ball for a variety of strengthening and flexibility exercises, providing everything you need to get your ankles back in top shape.

What's Included?

Who Should Use the Rehab Bundle?

This rehab pack is ideal for anyone in the latter stages of recovery from an ankle injury, as it provides support to prevent re-injury in both ankles along with a BOSU Ball to carry out a series of rehabilitating exercises. Wear the A60 whenever you're taking part in any sort of exercise, and use the BOSU Balance Trainer to carry out a range of strengthening and proprioceptive range of motion exercises.

What If I Have Recently Injured My Ankle?

This kit is recommended for minor injuries and the latter stages of recovery from more severe ankle injuries. If you are looking to support your ankle after a more recent severe injury, we recommend the Aircast Three-Stage Recovery Pack to provide you with more robust support in the early stages of your recovery.

Why Is the Aircast A60 Considered the Best Ankle Brace for Sports?

To help you decide if this is the best ankle brace for you, we’ve outlined our favourite things about the A60 Support that we think puts it at the top of its game.

  • High-quality ankle brace ideal for professional and amateur athletes alike
  • Supports your ankle with plastic stabilisers to prevent sprains and ankle rollover
  • Stabilising at 60° to provide your ankle with a more comfortable resting angle
  • Comfortable to wear with a breathable Breath-O-Prene material
  • Quick and easy to put on with a secure single fastening strap
  • Fits into most trainers, boots, and shoes without being bulky
  • Suitable for hand washing in lukewarm water with mild soap and then air dried

How Do I Use the BOSU Balance Trainer?

BOSU Balance Trainers, also known as "BOSU Balls", are increasingly popular fitness devices that provide you with an unstable surface, making them ideal for strengthening muscles and joints after injury. By forcing the ankle joint to stabilise itself, the BOSU Ball provides one of the best and most complete methods for helping your ankle improve its strength, stability and range of motion.

The BOSU ball is provided with a user manual and two instructional DVDs to get you started. You can see the video below for a short demonstration of some useful techniques.

What Size of Aircast Do I Need?

The Aircast A60 Ankle Support is available for the left and the right foot in sizes Small, Medium, and Large. Please see the table below for details.

Size UK Shoe Size
Small Up to UK Size 6
Medium UK Size 6 to 8
Large UK Size 8+

Which BOSU Ball Exercises Should I Use?

There are countless exercises that can be done with your BOSU Ball to strengthen and rehabilitate your ankle, and we recommend consulting with a physical trainer or physiotherapist to find the best routine for your needs and ability level. Watch the video below for a few basic ankle strengthening exercises to get you started.

How Does the Aircast A60 Ankle Brace Prevent Sprains and Rollovers?

This ankle support features a sleek stabiliser that goes from one side of your ankle to the other, resting comfortably under the arch of your foot. The proprioceptive nature of the brace means you are more subconsciously aware of where you are placing your foot, reducing the risk of further injury.

Unlike traditional ankle supports, which are often designed with a 90° angle, the A60 supports the ankle at 60°. This is akin to the angle of your foot during activities, making the A60 Ankle Support ideal for preventing sprains and ankle rollover during sports.

Which Sports Is This Ankle Support Suitable For?

This lightweight ankle support is suitable for a wide range of sports and physical activities, and can prevent ankle injuries and sprains while playing virtually any dry-land sport that requires turning or running. Suitable sports include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Badminton
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Cricket
  • Football
  • Golf
  • Hockey
  • Lacrosse
  • Rugby
  • Running
  • Squash
  • Tennis
  • Volleyball
  • Walking

What Should I Do if I Fall Between Sizes?

If your shoe size falls between two sizes, we suggest selecting the larger of the two sizes for comfort. However, if you would prefer a snug fit, please select the lower of the two sizes. If your ankle is swollen and you are close to a sizing boundary, we would advise choosing a larger size.

What If My Feet Are Too Small for the A60?

If your feet are too small for the A60 you may want to consider an alternative. The Aircast AirSport Ankle Brace provides a similar profile of support and includes an extra small option.

Can I Wear the A60 Ankle Support On Either Foot?

As the Aircast Ankle Brace features an anatomical shape to fit with the curves of your ankle, it should be worn only on the specified foot. If you find that you have a particularly protruding ankle bone, we recommend that you boost the comfort of your A60 Ankle Brace with a gel sleeve. We know that you need your ankle to feel as comfortable as possible, so you may wish to pair your A60 with the Silipos Gel Sleeve for optimal comfort!

Will the A60 Brace Fit Inside My Normal Shoes?

With a low-profile design that doesn’t bulk out your footwear, you can wear the A60 Ankle Support inside virtually any trainer, football boot, hiking boot or shoe. As you can see from the image below, the brace contours to your ankle shape without excessive bulk, making sure it won’t compromise your footwear and your comfort.

How Easy Is It to Put On the A60 Brace?

This lightweight ankle brace is quick and easy to put on, allowing you to strap it on in a matter of seconds. All you need to do is secure the internal sleeve at the front of your ankle with the hook-and-loop fastener, and then bring the single strap around the back of your ankle and up through the plastic buckle on the outside of your ankle. This can then be adjusted to be as loose or as tight as you require.

Do I Wear Socks with the Aircast A60 Ankle Brace?

It’s best to wear the Aircast A60 brace on top of a sock. Not only will this make it more comfortable, but it will also prevent it from moving around while you’re active. There’s no need to compromise your warmth while playing sports outdoors!

What Is Anti-Migration and How Does the A60 Stay In Place?

As the A60 Ankle Support wraps under the arch of the foot, anchoring the support in the correct position, the ankle brace is prevented from migrating up the leg during use. This means that the brace reduces the risk of the brace moving out of its correct position and limits the time you need to spend repositioning the brace during sport or activity.

What Should I Do After I Take Off the Aircast A60 Ankle Brace?

After removing the Aircast A60 Ankle Brace, we recommend that you gently apply an ice pack to the area. Not only will this feel soothing after an intense workout, but it will also help to prevent any post-match discomfort from turning into something more nasty. The Ankle Ice Pack Wrap is a perfect solution!

What’s the Aircast A60 Ankle Brace Made Of?

This brace is made from special Breathe-O-Prene fabric, while the stabiliser inside the ankle brace is made from a moulded plastic to provide reliable support at a 60° angle. Although rigid enough to provide effective stability, the stabiliser is not uncomfortable, providing reliable and lightweight ankle support. A full list of actual materials include:

  • Nylon
  • Spandex
  • Polyester
  • Polypropylene Resin
  • Polyethylene Foam

Is the Aircast A60 a Latex-Free Ankle Brace?

Yes! The Aircast A60 Ankle Brace is free from latex, making it a suitable option for you if you’re worried about latex allergies or often find latex-based products to be uncomfortable or irritating.
