Systam Viscoflex Memory Foam Pressure Relief Cushion
The Systam Viscoflex Memory Foam Pressure Relief Cushion is a pressure sore cushion constructed from viscoelastic memory foam. It's anatomically shaped to improve positioning, stability and comfort as well as increasing the contact area of the cushion to spread the contact pressure and reduce the risk of pressure sores developing. The memory foam also facilitates blood circulation, further reducing the risk of pressure sore development.
The cushion is supplied complete with a highly breathable cover that is also impenetrable to liquids. The cover is adapted to deliver excellent performance whilst being suitable for use with an incontinent patient. The breathable cover reduces maceration (the softening and whitening of skin that is kept constantly wet) by easing skin perspiration.
Features and Benefits of the Systam Viscoflex Memory Foam Pressure Relief Cushion
The cushion's surface contains vents to improve air circulation and further reduce maceration. These vents also accommodate the body's movement to reduce surface friction.
The very high density memory foam prevents deformation of the cushion and stops any sagging effect. What's more, the cushion has an outer skin that is created during the moulding process. This protects the memory foam against damage including tearing and crumbling.
This pressure sore cushion is incredibly lightweight, making it ideal for travel or transportation where it is required in multiple locations. The useful integrated handle on the cushion cover makes travelling with the cushion easy. It is also very helpful when repositioning the cushion.
An anti-slip base avoids any sliding of the cushion, encouraging stable and reliable support, and the anatomical shape has raised side edges and a front-back slope which further encourages correct positioning.
