Evenup Shoe Balancer

Wearing a walker boot is a great way to get moving during your recovery from a foot or ankle injury, however it can often leave you unbalanced and make mobility difficult. The Evenup Shoe Balancer fits over your normal shoe, helping to correct uneven gait and reduce any hip or knee pain that leg length discrepancy can bring.

What's Included?

  • 1 x Evenup Shoe Balancer

What Does the Evenup Shoe Balancer Do?

The Evenup Shoe Balancer is the perfect tool for equalising discrepancies in leg length when a cast or walker boot is being worn. Using innovative technology, the Evenup Shoe Balancer seamlessly attached to the underside of multiple different styles of shoe using an over-the-top loop attachment to fasten the shoe in place.

Ideal for correcting imbalances, there is no better alternative than the Evenup Shoe Balancer.

Which Size Shoe Balancer Is Right for Me?

Please consult the table below for details and select the appropriate size for you from the drop-down menu above. To ensure a precise level of fit, we recommend measuring the base of your shoe at the longest and widest point before consulting the sizing chart below.

Please note that the measurements below are the maximum length and width for each size. To ensure you select a size that accommodates your entire shoe, please do not select a size larger or smaller than instructed.

How to measure your insole

Size UK Shoe Size Dimensions (Length x Width)
Small Size 4 - 6 265 x 100mm and smaller
Medium Size 7 - 9 266 x 101mm - 296 x 110mm
Large Size 10 - 13 297 x 111mm - 325 x 121mm

How Much Height Does the Even Up Shoe Balancer Provide?

Thanks to its adjustable design, the Even Up Balancer can be adjusted to 1.5cm, 1.9cm and 2.8cm in height. To adjust the height of your balancer, simply remove the Velcro layers provided until the correct height for your walker boot is obtained.

See One In Action!

Please view the video below for a demonstration of what the Even Up Shoe Balancer can do for you:

What Is the Evenup Shoe Balancer For?

The Evenup Shoe Balancer is designed for use with a walker boot or foot brace. You wear it on the opposing shoe to your injury support, where it can be altered in height between 1/2" and an inch in order to correct gait. This allows the patient to walk with more fluidity and comfort, preventing the limp that is usually associated with wearing a Walker Boot.

Can I Wear the Balancer for Leg Length Discrepancy?

If you suffer from leg length discrepancy, either from birth or from knee and hip surgery, then the Evenup Shoe Balancer can be used on a short-term temporary basis. We would recommend looking at the Clearly Adjustable Discrepancy Insole for living with leg length discrepancy.

How Do I Wear the Evenup Shoe Balancer?

The Evenup Shoe Balancer features a simple nylon strap that fits over the top of your normal shoe (the shoe opposing your injury). You can tighten the strap to prevent movement, and the balancer itself can be adjusted between half an inch and an inch, offering excellent versatility depending on the height of your walker boot.

Is the Evenup Shoe Balancer Suitable for Most Foot Injuries?

The Evenup Shoe Balancer is designed for use with a walker boot. However, it can be used on a temporary basis if you suffer from leg length discrepancy. You may find yourself using a walker boot, or suffering from leg length discrepancy with the following injuries:

  • Achilles tendon ruptures
  • Ankle joint fractures
  • Anthrodeses
  • Anthrodesis of the metatarsal joints
  • Calcaneal fractures
  • Hallux valgus / rigidus
  • Hammer and claw toes
  • Lapidus operation
  • Leg length discrepancy
  • Matatarsal fractures I - IV
  • Metatarsal fractures
  • Prosthesis
  • Severe sprains

What If I Fall Between Sizes?

If you fall between the predetermined sizes, we would recommend choosing the larger size. This ensures your shoe will fit within the Shoe Balancer, and allows you to use the included nylon straps for comfortable adjustment.

How Does the Shoe Balancer Work?

The Evenup Shoe Balancer works by allowing you to walk with both legs being the same height. It adds up to an inch onto the leg with discrepancy, while the shock absorbing sole prevents the foot pain associated with leg length discrepancy.

It is designed to improve the way you walk, but it does improve comfort too. Firstly, the balancer offers a secure fit through the adjustable nylon straps, meaning that you can walk freely without it coming loose. The balancer also includes a durable EVA sole that can absorb shock, perfect for reducing pain and improving comfort while walking.

Does the Evenup Shoe Balancer Feature a Grippy Sole?

Yes, the sole of the Evenup Shoe Balancer is ridged and grippy, allowing you to easily and safely walk on a range of different terrains and surfaces both inside and outside the home.

How Easy Is the Evenup Shoe Balancer to Use?

If you do suffer from an ankle or foot injury, then you want your Shoe Balancer to be easy to use. The balancer works by simply fitting underneath your shoes and adjusting the strap, where it is then held in place by the straps that surround it. Then, all you need to do is start walking again which should be made far easier and far more comfortable.

I bought the Evenup shoe balancer for my husband who has one leg shorter than the other after hip replacements. He thinks it is great. He can go and buy a new pair of shoes and not have to consider if they will be ok to build up. He can just put the balancer on and go. Brilliant!

Made walking possible with an air cast boot, has speeded up my recovery enormously! These should be given out with the boots or at least people advised to purchase one!!

Limping with an uneven gait caused me both additional pain and catalysed the risk of yet further joint injury...this innovative device instantly solved the problem. I love my Aircast boot...and I am equally happy with the evenup shoe...inspired design, easy to use and build quality make it utterly essential kit when facing the prospect of a nasty limp due to unequal leg length, or the need to wear a specialist boot. Not hyperbolic to say it has transformed my recovery and made me truly mobile!

A must if you're in an aircast

This is a must wear if you're in an aircast or you can create hip alignment and other related issues. The Evenup Shoe Balancer doesn't help get me fully aligned (there could be more 'layers' to remove than what exists) but it does a good enough job and makes walking in the aircast boot much more comfortable.

My physio wouldn't let me progress to one crutch without one of these as it can cause back issues if you have one foot higher than the other (in Vacoped boot or similar).

When fitting, though, do pick a pair of training shoes or other shoes with solid soles, preferably a sole that slopes outward to ground not thin/straight soles. If not, the heel section can slip off your shoe and then cause problems; even a fall. The toe section is fine as there is a strap to retain.

Great item to even up an ankle/leg boot

An excellent item to help offset the leg length when wearing a medical ankle or leg boot on the other. I am size 13uk and the balancer only just fits, with a 3cm shoe overhang. However it works and hopefully I don’t have to wear it for too long. It’s easy to fit over a training shoe, the rubber straps hold the shoe securely and the retaining velcro strap provides the final fit. Great item.

Hi Jeffrey,

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review with us. The information you provided is very helpful as we have recently changed the sizing information for our Shoe Balancers. This amount of overhand is perfect, as it ensures the entire foot is supported and raised without there being a huge amount of overhang or unecessary space for the foot to slide and move around on. We're also glad to hear the Velcro straps are holding the shoe in place securely whilst you're out and about!

Many thanks again for getting in touch. We hope to hear from you again in the future.

Kind regards,

Seth at Health and Care

This product is well made and does the job. I'm wearing it because of my archillies 5 heel wedges in my boot to level me up. Not quite levelling me but I think when I'm down to 3 wedges it will be perfect. I'm wearing it with size 11 walking boots to give me better support and it could be just a bit longer, say 10mm.
