How Does the Finger and Thumb Extension Glove Work?

The functional Extension Glove is secured to the wrist with a spiral forearm splint. The extension assist tensioners located at the interphalangeal (IP) joints of each finger can then support extending the fingers and thumb as the hand grasps.

By allowing the tensioners that are situated over the knuckles to work alongside the hand's natural grasping strength, it can help to improve finger and thumb extension where movement is weakened.

The palm features increased breathability and ease of donning. The Lycra material improves expandability and comfort, meaning it can be suitable for frequent and repeated use.

Sizing of the Extension Glove

The Finger and Thumb Extension Glove is available in three wrist splint sizes and five glove liner sizes. To determine the correct size you require, first measure the circumference of the wrist, followed by the width of the hand across the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joints, or lower knuckles. These measurements will indicate the required wrist splint size. (Please note that the tables below show measurements in inches).

To find the most accurate glove liner size, measure the circumference of the hand, excluding the thumb. Then measure from the tip of the middle finger to the bottom of the palm. This will provide you with the measurements required to find the correct glove liner size.
