Adult Training Pads for the Laerdal Heartstart Defibrillators

The Laerdal Heartstart Defibrillators have been designed to simulate how the Heartstart HS1 operates during a real-life sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) event. This helps train students in how to respond to an SCA patient in a fast but effective way. The Adult Training Pads have been designed for use with a mannequin so students can apply their knowledge and learn how to use the defibrillator.

Train Students to Respond Quickly

The patient's chance of survival is closely linked to the speed of shock delivery after CPR. As such, it's integral that students learn how to rapidly deliver a shock after the end of a CPR pause. Used with the AED Trainer, the Training Pads provide you with a solution for teaching your students how to act quickly.

Reusable Pads

The Adult Training Pads are a complete cartridge (with a lid) which contains a pair of adult defibrillation pads. These are reusable and can be utilised with the Little Anne CPR Mannequin for training purposes.

How Do You Run a Training Scenario?

To run the selected training scenario, treat the trainer exactly as you would the HS1 Defibrillator.

1. Pull the handle or press the green On/Off button to turn the trainer on.
2. Remove the clear protective lid from the training pads cartridge and set it aside. Follow the HeartStart Trainer's voice instructions.
3. If using a clothed mannequin, remove the clothing as instructed.
4. Pull the tab at the top of the training pads cartridge to peel off the resealable film cover. Inside are two adhesive pads on a plastic liner. Lift the pads out of the cartridge and unwind the wires from the well. Peel one pad off the liner.
5. Place the pad on the mannequin. Press the pad down firmly, then peel and place the other pad.
6. Continue to follow the trainer instructions for the remainder of the scenario.
7. When the scenario has been completed or you want to stop a scenario, press and hold the On/Off button until the trainer turns off.
8. To repeat the same scenario, repack the pads as described below, then begin again by pulling the green handle or pressing the green On/Off button.

Please note that these Adult Training Pads should not be placed on a real person and should only be used on a mannequin.
