Act Fast Anti-Choking Trainer Vest (Pack of 10)

Facilitating practical training sessions with hands-on experience, the Act Fast Anti-Choking Trainer Vest (Pack of 10) provides a realistic method for teaching students how to perform abdominal thrusts (the Heimlich Manoeuvre) correctly and safely. The choking training vest is provided with both green and yellow foam plugs, ensuring it can be used to train both beginners and more advanced students.

What's Included with the Trainer Vest?

As ten training vests are provided in this pack, it facilitates effective training of first aiders and employees in groups. Providing you with everything you need to get started, the following items are included:

  • 10 x Act Fast Anti-Choking Trainer Vest
  • 10 x Internal Air Bladder
  • 10 x Clear Plastic Airway
  • 30 x Packs of 10 Reusable Foam Plugs (100 green plugs for beginners; 200 yellow plugs for advanced students)
  • 10 x Nylon Drawstring Carry Bag
  • 10 x User Manual

How Does the Act Fast Anti-Choking Vest Work?

The Act Fast Training Vest is designed to be worn by one student while another student practices the abdominal thrust manoeuvre (also known as the Heimlich manoeuvre). The patented bladder allows students to practice abdominal thrusts with proper positioning, and when the manoeuvre is performed correctly the foam plug will fly into the air.

The choke vest also facilitates the simulation of black blows through the use of the foam back slap pad. This enables the practise of choking rescue protocols as indicated by the Red Cross and European Resuscitation Council. For realistic simulation, the training vest can be used while standing, sitting, and lying on the ground.

Who Can Use the Act Fast Anti-Choking Vest?

The Act Fast Trainer Vest anti-choking device is suitable for trainers and students looking to demonstrate and perform anti-choking techniques. Suitable groups of people who can benefit from this choking rescue trainer vest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • First Aid Trainers: Improve your ability to engage students with a practical approach to Heimlich manoeuvre training; also eliminate the need to softly perform the manoeuvre and then suggesting the thrust should be performed with more force during a real choking incident.
  • Beginner First Aid Students: Hands-on training provides a more realistic simulation of anti-choking techniques; green foam plugs are specially designed for beginners new to using a choking training vest.
  • Advanced First Aid Students: Refresh existing knowledge with a fun and engaging anti-choking trainer session; yellow foam plugs are specially designed for students with advanced knowledge of the Heimlich manoeuvre.

How Does the Anti-Choking Vest Build Confidence with First Aid?

Unlike textbook learning, where the student may develop the knowledge but not the experience of performing the Heimlich manoeuvre, using a choking rescue trainer vest allows the student to feel the level of pressure that should be applied during an anti-choking thrust. This can provide them with more confidence should they ever need to perform the manoeuvre in the real world, as they are equipped with a better understanding of where their hands should be positioned and how much pressure should be applied.

How Durable Is the Act Fast Vest?

The Act-Fast Trainer Vest is exceptionally durable, and is constructed from high-quality neoprene. It has been designed to last for many years, even with frequent use.

Does the Act-Fast Trainer Vest Click with Proper Technique?

The Act Fast choking vest does not click when the proper technique is performed. If you would prefer a choking training aid that clicks to indicate proper technique, we recommend the TMAN1 Adult/Child CPR Prompt Tan Training Manikin.

How Do I Clean the Training Vest?

To clean the Act Fast choking vest trainer, remove the PVC  bladder and airway assembly, then hand wash the neoprene vest with mild detergent. After washing, the vest should be air dried.

Are the Foam Plugs Included with the Anti-Choking Vest?

A total of 30 foam plugs are provided with each Act Fast choking vest. This comprises one pack of 10 green foam plugs for beginners, and two packs of 10 yellow foam plugs for advanced students.
